12/8 - 12/9

2023台灣燈教育節主視覺

Origin

Keelung, as a port city located in northern Taiwan, boasts a rich cultural history, natural landscapes, and learning resources. These local materials have become the resource carriers for learners to learn life literacy under the new curriculum’s emphasis on competency-oriented learning. Since the implementation of the new curriculum in 2019, Keelung has had many local standout teachers who have promoted and integrated various learning areas and teaching plans.
The Lighthouse Education Festival aims to showcase the development of competency-oriented learning courses in Keelung City’s junior high schools and elementary schools. It hopes to introduce innovative elements in education and create cross-border resource integration, achieving a vision of good communication inside and outside the education system. This aligns with the beautiful educational vision of “achieving every child—aptitude and lifelong learning”.

We look forward to the Lighthouse Education Festival providing a platform for teachers, parents, and the general public to understand, co-create, and exchange the “new curriculum”. Together, we can explore how to deepen and implement competency education under the beautiful educational vision of “achieving every child—aptitude and lifelong learning”.
In the future, students will have the ability and literacy to apply knowledge, no longer just memorizing and remembering abstract and cold knowledge. Instead, they will connect learning with local life situations, experiencing and accumulating knowledge from daily life. We believe that in the face of the unknown future, the development of local cities and future talents will gradually improve in the process of mutual benefit.

Purpose of the activity

Keelung, as a leading port city in Taiwan, has become a loving and supportive city in the context of multicultural compatibility. To promote Keelung citizens’ deep understanding of Keelung’s hope and support for Keelung students and the local area under its unique culture, it is hoped that through workshops, forums, stall markets, and other interactive methods, combined with the teaching results of Keelung schools under the 108 curriculum that has been implemented for three years, the core concepts of spontaneity, interaction, and mutual benefit will be emphasized.
The ideas of sustainable education, mutual support, and love for the local area will be deeply integrated into the campuses and communities of Keelung City, promoting Keelung City to become a learning town full of support and love for the local area by its citizens. At the same time, to increase the opportunities for Keelung teachers, students, and citizens to participate in the development of a friendly environment and the local area, and to actually understand the actual benefits and plans generated by the city in recent years for the development of an inclusive city, this event is specially held.

To enhance the integration of this event, the planning of this event needs to include and showcase the achievements and business focus of all departments of the Keelung Education Bureau. This event is centered on supporting students’ love for the environment, their hearts for the local area, their affection for humanities, and sustainable learning.
It showcases the diverse achievements of elementary and middle schools in the city in developing emotional education, a friendly environment, and inclusive education. It also aims to achieve an educational vision of good communication inside and outside the education system.
